Tröeg's First Cut IPA

BREWERY: Tröegs Brewing Co. (Hershey, PA) | STYLE: American IPA | ABV: 6.2%

What a beautiful day for an IPA! For the first time ever we decided to go to the CONSERVATORY OF FLOWERS in Golden Gate Park... and we must say, that it is as beautiful as everyone says it is. It's amazing how quickly you can forget that you're in the city when you're surrounded by rainbow florals and fresh greenery like this! Tickets into this Victorian-style greenhouse are $9 and only $6 for students -- so if you're feeling struck by Spring fever definitely give this place a visit!

For our beer choice of the day, we brought along Tröegs FIRST CUT IPA; a sensational IPA brewed from freshly cut Simcoe hops and "a touch of mango" :)

With only placing 45 on the IBU scale (where the majority of beers are placed in between 15 and 80) this beer is only ever-so-slightly bitter. Although having an aroma of citrusy hops, with tropical fruits and a hint of malt, the taste of this beer isn't too hoppy with a presence of mango that is more of "a hint than a statement." But as much as we love the tropics, we wouldn't want our beer to be overwhelmingly mango-y anyways :p

With a medium and crisp body, this beer ended beating any ol' chocolate egg that we'd find in our Easter basket. And we'd suggest that you ditch your traditional holiday candies for this beautiful brew too!
