Delirium Tremens

DELIRIUM TREMENS

BREWERY: Huyghe Brewery (Melle, Belgium) | STYLE: Belgian Strong Pale Ale | ABV: 8.5%

As you can see, Milan and I drink A LOT of beer. We have in our past and we are well...right now, and there’s no denying that we will be cracking one open at lunch tomorrow. However, what many may not know about our long-term relationship with beer was that most of its consumption took place in France. Every night you could find us at one or several of our favorite bars having pints with the guys and gals. Ask either of us and we can spit off a list of popping bars you can find in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Barcelona, and the list goes on. During our first year living in Europe we spent our time in Aix-en-Provence (or more accurately at the local bars). Many were near and dear to our hearts, which was obvious to anyone living in that city, but we found ourselves always venturing back to one bar for one reason and one reason only, Delirium.

^^An old (and the only) iPhone pic of our little French town, Aix!

Brigand. Oh BRIGAND, you never disappointed us. This was the ONLY bar in our small town that would sell this Belgian Strong Ale, and damn did they get the name right. We especially loved starting our night there ‘cause this beer knew just how to put us in the right state of mind for a night out. You guys...not only was the beer on point, but the ambiance kept us coming back. I can picture it now, rock/beer/vintage memorabilia on the walls, a long dark bar crowding the narrow space, and then a DJ in the back corner playing some major jams from every genre and every decade.

It’s safe to say that when our dear friend SHADIA gifted us a bottle of DELIRIUM we were overjoyed. Not only do we absolutely love this beer, but it also holds sentimental value for Milan and I. We find ourselves missing our lives in Europe more and more each day, so little tokens like these mean the world to us. Shad, we thank you!

It’s all in the details people! I mean come on look at that bottle, just beautiful. This beer is a dangerous one for us. It tastes so good that we can keep chugging and chugging, but don’t be fooled by its appearance it comes with a punch! It has an 8.5% ABV, some yeasty spice and everything nice. How could you not love this beer? Call me crazy, but I could have one on the daily ;)
